15-year-old Air Force student allegedly punished to death by seniors

Blaise Aliyu, a student at the Air Force Comprehensive School in Kaduna, was allegedly punished to death by two senior colleagues.

Aliyu is survived by his twin brother, who also attends the military boarding school in Mando, Kaduna.

They are orphans who lost their parents in 2013.

It was stated that two SS3 pupils brought the 15-year-old to their dorm under the pretence of punishing him, but instead killed him.

The deceased’s body has been placed in the mortuary.

In response to the development, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force, conveyed the institution’s grief.

Gabkwet said in a statement on Saturday that “an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.”

The statement stated that the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, and the entire NAF family were devastated “by the painful and unfortunate incident of one of our students’ untimely death at Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna, on June 19, 2024.”

It stated that, to minimise conjecture, a thorough investigation was currently underway to determine how, why, and what caused the victim’s death.

The statement claimed that the general public should be confident that the situation was being handled with the utmost urgency and that they would not rest until it was resolved.
