2019 UTME Wrecked by System Failure, Delays, Other Setbacks

Reports across various JAMB CBT centres nationwide, revealed cases of system failures, late commencement of examinations among other logistic and technical issues as the 2019 UTME kicked off yesterday, 11th of April.

In Lagos, for instance, anxious parents at Dalewares Centre, Ilupeju, who spoke to newsmen, lamented that examinations were yet to commence as at 7.30 p.m., saying: “Candidates who arrived the centre since 7 a.m., were famished and exhausted all day without any explanation for the delay.”
2019 UTME Wrecked by System Failure, Delays, Other Setbacks
A candidate of the 2019 UTME and a user of the our platform “K3 Vins” shared a sad report on his personal experience at his centre, he wrote –  “Just left my jamb cbt Centre Unique college cbt centres Zuba. An exam scheduled for 9:00am was written by some minutes after 4:00pm
And the one scheduled for 1:30pm was written by 9:pm to some minutes to 11:00pm and it took some of the computers close to an hour before it could load. Jamb candidate’s were already tired some were even on the verge of collapsing from weariness Hunger and some were ulcer patient. My question is was jamb not supposed to conduct a thorough check up before accrediting cbt centres ???? We were even ordered to hurry up and submit cause it was already late as if it was our fault. I couldn’t even answer questions comfortably. How can you when you are already tired hungry and even worried about how to get back to your destination safely?
Some candidate’s were posted there from Lambata, Kaduna Road,Suleja, Tafa Etc. compare the distance from zuba to these places at such a time After 11 midnight exposing students most especially females to the dangers of the night. As at the time I left there were some candidates yet to get means of transportation. they were extremely worried and some of the ladies were even crying. I do not need to be a prophet to say that the results of the exams would be very poor. On behalf of all the jamb candidates who wrote their jamb exam at unique cbt center Zuban fct. I implore jamb to please look into this matter. From a candidate who cares
Please myschool.ng i implore you all to help we the affected ones so that it can get to the authorities in charge”
The CBT centre, located close to the National Library in the Abuja, was also reported to have experienced the breakdown of about 50 laptops due to nonavailability of power packs.
Some candidates, parents, and guardians have been vocal about hitches in biometric verification. There were reports of cases where computers went off while candidate were taking the exam, and the time kept reading before they finished restoring it.
Late commencement of the examination at some centres made many candidates and parents  panic, and security personal had to be invited to restored order.
Meanwhile, in other centres across many states, many independent observers confirmed a smooth and peaceful process. The 2019 UTME that commenced yesterday is billed to continue till Wednesday, April 17, when the visually impaired candidates will be taking part. For the sake of candidates, concerned parents and guardians, we hope for a smoother organization of the exams.
