Three Abia State University Uturu Medicine and Surgery students were reportedly killed in a horrific accident on the Okigwe axis of the Enugu-Umuahia Motorway.
The accident occurred on Thursday, while six students were returning to Aba following the school’s medical student induction.
The driver of the vehicle in which the students were driving reportedly lost control and somersaulted.
According to a source who spoke about the car accident, one of the pupils miraculously survived, while the other two are fighting for their lives at an unidentified medical facility.
According to the report, “Three students have been confirmed dead, while two others are injured and are battling for their lives now in the hospital while one miraculously survived.”
Confirming the incident, Fredrick Ogiden, the Corps Commander of the FRSC in Abia State, said his men went there shortly after the collision, describing the vehicle as an ash-colored private Toyota Camry.
He claimed the incident happened along the Okigwe axis of the Enugu-Umuahia Expressway.
One of the students has been identified as as Favour Okpanku, a 500-level Medical and Surgery student.
