500-level student of OAU, Chisom Nwankwo dies in a car accident

ILE-IFE (Osun) – The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), located in Ile-Ife, has announced that Chisom Nwankwo, a final-year student, died in a car accident on campus.

The deceased was a Public Relations Officer at the institution and a student studying Agricultural Economics at the Faculty of Agriculture said Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju on Tuesday in Ile-Ife.

According to Olarewaju, the deceased “unfortunately died” after being involved in an accident on campus.

He continued by saying that the department, the faculty, and the entire University community are deeply saddened by her passing.

He urged motorists and motorcycle riders to obey traffic laws and to reduce their speed both inside and outside of campus.

“We cannot afford to be losing our students; we wish to warn all and sundry against speeding and wrong overtaking that can claim the lives of students or staff.

“The management wishes to condole with the family of the deceased and pray that God would give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” Olarewaju stated.
