59 bag first class as UNIOSUN graduates 2,409 students




Prof. Odunayo Clement Adebooye, Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University (UNIOSUN), disclosed on Tuesday that 59 students from the school received first class with (2.75) percent out of 2,409 students who will graduate this year from the university.

According to him, a total of 2,409 degrees and diplomas will be awarded at the event this year, with about 2,145 first degrees, 10 postgraduate diplomas, 214 master degrees, and 40 doctoral degrees, making a total of 2,409 graduates.

The Vice-Chancellor, who revealed these at a news conference held in the university’s conference hall to herald the 14th convocation ceremonies, stated that the 14th convocation ceremonies of the citadel of learning is scheduled between Friday, 13th to Saturday 21st Of September, 2024.

According to Professor Adebooye, the academic don, the graduating students of the various degrees and diplomas in terms of class of degrees are as follows: 673 received Second Class Upper Division (31.38%), 1,109 received Second Class Lower Division (51.56%), and 304 received Third Class (14.17%).

Adebooye, who congratulated all members of the University community for their contributions that contributed to the milestone, stated that, together, we would continue to lift Osun State University to greater heights.

“This administration aimed to be among the top 10 universities in Nigeria and within the top 20 in Africa in the next foreseeable future. Our path is clear, and our strategies are robust. We are committed to providing a conducive learning environment, ensuring staff and students’ satisfaction, and leveraging modern technologies to achieve our vision, ” he stressed.

While praising Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration for its significant contributions to the university, the Vice Chancellor stated, “Your investment in our university continues to drive us towards excellence, achievements, and contributing to our narrative is invaluable.”
