8 AKSU Lecturers Sack Over Misconduct and Abuse of Office
The Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), has terminated the appointment of eight lecturers for allegations centered on sexual assault and extortion on female students of the institution.
This was disclosed during a press conference by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Eno Ibanga at the main campus of the institution located at Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin local government area.
The VC stated that some of the cases were in court, adding that 10 students alleged to be cultist were also caught at the junction of the main campus with a mini coffin, red clothe and axes, on their way to an initiation ceremony. The cases are thoroughly being investigated by the management before disciplinary measures are carried out.
He further noted that, the university is doing its best to instill sanity among lecturers and students.
