NSSEC aims to improve quality of senior secondary school education

The National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC) has stated its commitment to improving the quality of teaching and learning in senior secondary schools.

This occurred at a two-day workshop in Abuja for important schedule officials from chosen federal unity colleges and state senior secondary schools.

The commission emphasised the importance of addressing the sub-sector’s difficulties, such as infrastructure decay in some secondary schools.

Professor Iyela Ajayi, Executive Secretary of the commission, highlighted measures such as the establishment of national senior secondary education policy, which is currently awaiting publication and distribution.

The commission’s other tasks include developing a national strategic plan (2024-2027) for senior secondary education as well as training manuals in English and Mathematics.

The workshop’s theme is: “Attaining the Sustainable Development Goal 4: Senior Secondary Education in Perspective.”
