LASU approves commencement of LCCI’s entrepreneurship postgraduate studies

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) received approval from the Lagos State University (LASU) to begin Postgraduate studies in entrepreneurship.

With this clearance, LCCI and LASU will combine to offer public postgraduate diploma (PGD), master’s, and PhD degrees in entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, it will provide students with a thorough understanding of entrepreneurship and management functions required for a successful business endeavour, as well as a practical application of management theories to improve students’ entrepreneurial skills.

In August 2022, LCCI and LASU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate and create programmes in entrepreneurial education and other areas that would contribute to the growth of a thriving small and medium enterprise (SME) sector.

The diploma in entrepreneurship programme began classes at LCCI in May 2023, and the pioneer students are presently in their second and final year of study.

As Nigeria’s top and foremost chamber of commerce, LCCI aspires to deliver world-class business development services, such as training and consulting, to its members and the business community.

The LCCI’s business education services and training unit currently provides SMEs with training, coaching, and mentorship programmes, as well as guidance for aspiring entrepreneurs across the country.

Established with the vision of pursuing the advancement of learning and academic excellence, LASU has been unrelenting in the pursuit of its mission of becoming a citadel of learning, a community with the trademark of excellence in teaching, research and service to humanity, a catalyst as well as an agent for development.

While admission into the 2023/2024 diploma in entrepreneurship programme is still in progress, the postgraduate programme will commence on Friday, May 3, 2024.

Students in the postgraduate programme will enjoy entrepreneurship mentoring from successful entrepreneurs in LCCI and gain access to other resources of the LCCI.

The students will also stand the chance to participate for free in various business exhibitions, including the annual LCCI Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF) for free.

In addition to regular classroom training, the programme features practical entrepreneurial skills acquisition, business counselling and mentoring, business tours, business clinics, weekend hybrid classes, dedicated lecturers, and access to a user friendly learning management system (LMS)
