Dr. Tiri Gyan David, a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma, FUDMA, in Katsina State, was reportedly assassinated by bandits, who also abducted two of his children.
The lecturer was allegedly murdered in the early hours of Tuesday at his home in Yarima quarters, Dutsinma local government area, Katsina State.
Prior to his death, the deceased was the head of the university’s agricultural economics, extension, and rural development department.
According to sources, the criminals attacked the village with sophisticated weapons and shot intermittently to frighten the residents.
The Katsina Police Command’s spokesman, Abubakar Sadiq, verified the incident.
He, however, stated that the command will shortly issue a detailed statement regarding the incident.
