Gov. Yusuf to honour 2 headteachers found working during vacation

The Kano State Government says it would honour two primary school headteachers 2024/2025 academic term, which begins next week.

Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf made the gesture during an unannounced visit to Tsanyawa Central and Model Primary Schools in Tsanyawa Local Government Area, where he met with the headmasters in their respective positions.

According to a statement published by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor was visibly delighted by the headmasters’ dedication to duty even though schools are currently on vacation.

Yusuf stated that after conferring with the State Commissioner of Education, the State Government will establish a suitable reward to boost the morale of the head teachers and inspire others to emulate them.

He stated that as part of the ongoing State of Emergency on Education, the schools he visited would be prioritised to provide a better environment for teaching and learning.

He stated that he would continue to make unplanned visits to schools and government projects throughout the state to ensure that they were completed swiftly and according to set standards.

In a separate statement, Malam Ismaila Alhassan, Head Teacher of Tsanyawa Central Primary School, and Malam Magaji Sule, Head Teacher of Model Primary, expressed their gratitude to the Governor for his gesture and efforts to revitalise education in the state.
