IgbenedionVC urges new students to harness talents for better future

OKADA ( Sundiata Scholar) – Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, Vice Chancellor of Igbinedion University, has urged newly admitted students of the institution to harness their talents and treasures for the betterment of society and humanity.

Ezemonye said this at the 2024/2025 orientation programme for fresh students on Monday in Okada, Edo State.

He emphasised on the importance of utilising time wisely on campus, adding that good conduct would help them actively run their vision and achieve their career goals.

According to him, your past does not define your future; my advice is that you should try to acquire new skills that will support you to achieve greater success.“

I urge you to devote your talents and treasures only to ideas that contribute to the service of God and humanity.“You may have been entangled with thoughts of navigating a new terrain with old compasses.“

New skills, new fools will be acquired, suitable for perfect berthing of the ship at the harbour.“In this institution, you will author your own storyline. In this way, you will also sharpen the school history on the long run, along our changing narrative,” he said.

Ezemonye advised the students to engage only in fruitful conversations and allow civility and dignity to guide their dialogues and interrogations with the host communities, as they treat one another with mutual respect.“

Be rest assured that you are in for a formidable learning experience predicated on digital literacy, creativity and innovation.“Our Curriculum is alive, entrepreneurially active, digitally compliant, and built for future-ready workplace.
