Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara’s management has officially announced that the present school fees will be maintained for the 2024/2025 academic session.
This, according to Rector Professor Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, is a significant step towards promoting accessible education in light of the country’s current economic crisis.
This also demonstrates the institution’s dedication to assisting students amid the current difficult economic situations.
The decision was made during a recent meeting of the Governing Council and important stakeholders in the institution.
Professor Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, the Rector, said in a statement that the institution is committed to promoting quality education while keeping it affordable.
He stated that, in accordance with Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda, the polytechnic intended to improve the educational experience for all students, regardless of state of origin.
Professor Ufuophu-Biri explained that the choice to maintain service charges stable was not taken lightly.
“We recognize the financial strains many families are facing due to the current economic climate.
“By choosing to maintain the existing fees, we hope to alleviate some of this burden and ensure that our students can focus on their education without the stress of increased financial obligations,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the development has received widespread support from both students and parents, who see it as evidence of the institution’s understanding of their needs and the provision of a conducive learning environment in which students can fully devote themselves to their academic pursuits.
The polytechnic administration also used this opportunity to encourage students to return to college with a renewed emphasis on their studies.
