Nigerian Government Removes Universities, Other Tertiary Institutions from IPPIS

The Nigerian government has officially removed universities and other state-owned tertiary institutions from the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).

This significant decision was communicated by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF).

Following the government’s directive, the OAGF announced that the IPPIS payment platform for federal institutions would be discontinued.

Bawa Mokwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the OAGF, confirmed that this action aligns with the government’s decision to withdraw these institutions from the IPPIS framework.

“It was only natural for the IPPIS platform for FTIs to be shut down, given the Federal Government’s directive to remove these institutions from the system,” he said.

Additionally, Mokwa indicated that salaries for the month of November would now be processed using the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS).

He also emphasised that federal institutions are required to compile their payrolls in Excel format and submit them to IPPIS for verification.
