The Kwara State Government has officially announced that the WAEC registration fee for public senior secondary students for the 2024/2025 academic session will be set at N30,250 per student.
This amount covers N27,000 for WAEC registration itself, along with an additional N3,250 allocated for e-registration and administrative expenses.
This fee breakdown was provided by Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development.
In a recent address to school principals during the WAEC registration launch in Ilorin, Modibbo-Kawu underscored a “strict stance against extortion” and issued a clear warning that any principal found collecting additional, unapproved fees would be penalised.
She stated unequivocally that “The Ministry will not tolerate extra fees beyond those approved,” urging principals to adhere to transparency and integrity throughout the registration period.
The Commissioner further commended the principals for their commitment to educational development across Kwara State, highlighting Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s ongoing dedication to improving teacher welfare.
She applauded his efforts to enhance the working conditions for educators and address infrastructure challenges in schools, recognising the impact of his administration’s focus on elevating educational standards.
Educational leaders also expressed appreciation for the governor’s initiatives, which aim to uplift both the facilities within schools and the quality of education available to students across the state.
The Commissioner’s address serves as both a directive and a reminder of the state’s commitment to accessible, fair, and high-quality education.
