The Governing Council of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State, has sanctioned the dismissal of four lecturers over allegations of sexual harassment and examination misconduct.
This resolution was made during the Second Council meeting, presided over by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, and recently held in Lokoja.
The council commended the university’s management for following due process in the investigations related to these allegations.
Reiterating its “zero-tolerance policy” towards unethical conduct, the council declared that misconduct of any kind would not be condoned within the institution.
It also instructed the university to expedite the resolution of other pending cases, with a particular focus on one from the Faculty of Science that has drawn media attention.
The council further urged other staff members and lecturers to maintain the highest ethical standards and called on students to report any instances of harassment they might encounter.
