Gov Mbah Allocates N2 Billion for Teaching Hospital, Hostel Upgrade
Governor Peter Mbah has announced a commitment of over N2 billion by his administration to enhance the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) and construct student hostels to tackle the issue of accommodation shortages.
The governor made this disclosure on Saturday during a town hall meeting in Enugu, where he responded to questions from the leadership of the students’ union. He highlighted the state government’s efforts to establish smart schools for primary and secondary education while focusing on innovation and experiential learning in tertiary institutions.
According to the governor, “the Enugu government has committed in ESUTH over N2 billion for a facelift.”
Governor Mbah further revealed that by 2025, the state would construct 17 smart green secondary schools in addition to the 245 out of 260 ongoing projects catering to education from nursery to Junior Secondary School 3 across the state.
He assured that by September 2025, all children in the state would be attending the smart schools, adding that 11,000 smart school teachers and Directors of Experiential Learning had already undergone training.
