Lawmaker, Gana donates classrooms to constituents
BIDA (Sundiata Scholar) – Niger Rep. Joshua Audu-Gana, (PDP-Niger) has donated a block of six classrooms to Tswagba community in Lavun Local Government area of Niger.
reports that the multi-million naira project was inaugurated on Sunday by the lawmaker representing Lavun, Mokwa, Edati constituency.
During the ceremony, Audu-Gana said the project was part of his efforts to restore the lost glory of education in the area, Niger and Nigeria.
According to him, the responsibilities of providing quality education to Nigerians should not be left in the hands of government alone.
He, therefore, urged Nigerians to complement efforts of their governments in funding education.
He said: “I’m fulfilled seeing our children receiving education in a conducive environment.
He said it was in fulfilment of his promise to the constituents and to as well complement the efforts of Gov Umar Bago to move education sector forward.
Audu-Gana described education as the best legacy any society could bequeath to its citizens.
He called on the school management to take full ownership of the project and protect it adequately.
Audu-Gana also extolled the giant strides of Bago of the state, saying that he had succeeded in transforming the state.
The lawmaker also said adequate learning and instructional facilities in primary schools across the country were key to sustainable development.
Audu-Gana, who described education as bedrock for development, assured his constituents of his commitment to vigorously follow up on projects captured for the area in the 2025 Budget .
He also urged Nigerians to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
In their separate remarks, the Education Secretary, Lavun Local Government, Mr Jibril Hassan-Abubakar and NUT chairman, Yahaya Muhammad, appealed for more work to bridge the infrastructure gap in the area.(NAN)
