Senator Barau Provides Master’s Degree Scholarships for 300 Students
In a significant show of dedication to education, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I Jibrin, is offering scholarships to 300 students to pursue Master’s degrees at Nigerian universities. This comes just one week after he sponsored 70 students for postgraduate scholarships abroad.
Through the Barau I Jibrin Foundation (BIJF), the 70 students chosen from across Kano State’s three senatorial districts left for India on December 29th, 2024, to continue their postgraduate studies. Now, Senator Barau is taking his educational commitment even further by providing domestic postgraduate scholarships to 300 students.
The BIJF has launched applications for “postgraduate domestic scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic session.”
The foundation intends to assist 300 exceptional graduates from accredited universities to pursue their postgraduate education at selected universities throughout Nigeria.
The scholarship program covers a variety of fields, including: Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Environmental Geology, Hydrogeology & Environmental Geology, and Oil and Gas Operations.
The six universities chosen for the program are Bayero University Kano, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and University of Nigeria Nsukka.
This initiative highlights Senator Barau’s commitment to empowering youth and promoting academic excellence in Nigeria.
