Abiodun Grants N2.5 Million to OOU’s Best Graduate, N500,000 to Others

Governor Dapo Abiodun has granted a cash prize of N2.5 million to Miss Aishat Anuoluwapo Dauda, the overall best graduating student of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye.

The 19-year-old awardee completed her studies in the Department of Economics, under the Faculty of Social Sciences, attaining a 4.87 Cumulative Grade Point Aggregate (CGPA) to become the university’s top graduate.

In addition, Abiodun presented N500,000 to each of the 114 first-class graduates, including the overall best student, encouraging them to maintain the values, discipline, and principles that contributed to their academic excellence.

“Graduands, as you step into the world, carry with you the values, and principles that have shaped you. Strive to be innovators, problem solvers, and leaders in your respective fields,” Abiodun advised.

The governor, represented by his Deputy, Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, made this announcement during the 34th convocation ceremony of the university, which was held on Friday in Ago-Iwoye.

As part of the convocation, which included the awarding of honorary and postgraduate degrees, a lecture was delivered titled “TETFUND and Educational Development in Nigeria: The History, the Treasures, and the Future,” by Mr. Sunday Echono, the Executive Secretary of TETFund.
