18 Federal Directors Fail Permanent Secretary Qualifying Exam

Out of the 29 federal directors who participated in the Permanent Secretary qualifying examination, 18 failed to meet the required minimum score of 50 per cent.

This information was revealed in a memo signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Gabriel Aduda, acting on behalf of the examination committee.

As stated in the memo, the 11 directors who successfully passed will move on to the next phase of the selection process, which is set to take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

The Federal Government, through the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, had previously announced the commencement of the selection process to fill vacant Permanent Secretary positions.

A separate memo, signed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, clarified that officials currently facing disciplinary actions were not permitted to apply.

It further confirmed that President Bola Tinubu had given approval for the appointment process to proceed.

Additionally, the memo highlighted that eligibility was restricted to candidates from certain states to ensure adherence to the Federal Character principle.
