100-level student accidentally kills UNIDEL finalist during driving practice

Awele Eluemunor lost her life after being hit by a 100-level student of the same institution during a driving lesson.

The unfortunate incident took place in Agbor, within the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, last Tuesday.

Reports indicate that the female student, whose name remains undisclosed, was receiving driving lessons from her boyfriend, who is allegedly a “suspected internet fraudster (Yahoo boy).”

While learning, she lost control of the car, veered off the road, and struck several pedestrians.

Among those hit was Awele Eluemunor, a final-year student at the College of Nursing, Agbor, who died on the spot.

Awele was scheduled to complete her studies in November but tragically passed away at the scene.

Two other people sustained severe injuries and were promptly taken to the hospital for urgent medical care.

Eyewitnesses stated that the boyfriend, who owned the vehicle, fled immediately after the crash, leaving the young driver behind.

Authorities have yet to confirm if the fleeing suspect has been arrested.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Edafe Bright, verified the event, stating that “One dead and one injured confirmed.”
