Ondo government recruits 1,010 secondary school teachers

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the hiring of 1,010 teachers who successfully passed the screening process conducted by the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).
These teachers will be posted to secondary schools located across the entire state.
According to a statement released by Ebenezer Adeniyan, who serves as Aiyedatiwa’s Chief Press Secretary, the list containing the names of successful candidates will be published online and also posted at TESCOM headquarters and zonal offices statewide.
The statement further mentioned that the list of successful candidates for primary school teaching positions is currently being finalized.
It also noted that the recruitment process is part of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to addressing the ongoing issue of teacher shortages in public schools.
The statement added: “Governor Aiyedatiwa had expressed concern over teaching staff shortages in public schools, particularly in rural communities. This necessitated his directive that the recruitment must be based on the peculiar needs of the understaffed schools across the state.”
“The recruitment of teachers in primary and secondary schools is one of the efforts of the Aiyedatiwa administration in revamping the education sector.”
“Last Friday, the governor approved the payment of N633million for the registration of students for the West African Examination Council’s (WAEC’s) Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.”
