NECO: Oyo cautions against exam malpractices


The Oyo State Government has cautioned all students to avoid any form of malpractice during the ongoing National Examination Council (NECO) examination.
The Chairperson of the Teaching Service Commission, Oladipo Olubukola, issued the warning while monitoring some secondary schools across various zones in the state on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
She encouraged both teachers and students not to engage in dishonest practices during the examinations, noting that such actions could negatively affect their academic progress.
Olubukola also encouraged them “to face their academics, as this will foster their academic development in their various universities of choice.”
The chairperson, therefore, emphasised that the commission remains dedicated to maintaining high academic standards through joint efforts with relevant authorities, ensuring that proper disciplinary actions are taken against anyone found guilty of examination malpractice.
She stated, “The government of Governor Seyi Makinde has zero tolerance for examination malpractices.”

hat the monitoring was carried out to evaluate the conditions during the ongoing NECO examinations in public schools across the state.
In his remarks, the Principal of Ibadan Grammar School, Ogunleye Biodun, praised Governor Makinde for prioritising the development of education in his administration.
The examination centres visited included Ibadan Grammar School, St. Anne’s School, Olubi Memorial Grammar School, and Saint Luke’s College, Ibadan.
