Ebonyi university pegs admission cut-off mark at 150


The management of Ebonyi State University (EBSU) has fixed 150 as the minimum admission cut-off mark for all its academic programmes for the 2025/2026 academic year.
This was announced in a statement issued on Thursday in Abakaliki by the institution’s Admission Officer, Mr Innocent Izekwe.
As stated by the university, the 150 cut-off aligns with the guidelines provided by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The management further stated that specific cut-off marks have been set internally for different faculties and departments.
In the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, the cut-off mark for Mass Communication is 160, while all other courses within the faculty remain at 150.
Within the Faculty of Sciences, Computer Science has a cut-off of 170, whereas the rest of the programmes have theirs set at 150.
The Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources Management has maintained a cut-off score of 150 for all its academic programmes.
For the Faculty of Education, the university has approved a standard cut-off mark of 150 across all courses.
In the Faculty of Engineering and Environmental Sciences, the following scores have been set: Chemical Engineering — 170, Civil Engineering — 150, Electrical and Electronics Engineering — 170, and 150 for all Environmental Sciences courses.
As for the Faculty of Medicine, the university has established the following minimum cut-off marks: Medicine and Surgery — 240, Anatomy — 160, and Physiology — 160.
In the Faculty of Health Science and Technology, the approved cut-off marks are 210 for Nursing Science and 180 for Medical Laboratory Science.
Finally, the Faculty of Law has set its minimum admission cut-off score at 170.
The university stressed that applicants must not only reach the cut-off scores for their selected courses but also satisfy all other admission requirements stipulated by both the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the institution.
“Prospective applicants are advised to visit the university’s website or contact the admissions office for further information and guidance on the application process,” the statement added.
