Step-by-step guide: Unijos begins 2025 Post-UTME/DE screening

The University of Jos (Unijos) has announced the start of its online registration for the 2025 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening, along with the release of departmental cut-off marks.
The registration process will be open from 18 August to 30 September 2025.
As stated in a notice signed by the Registrar, Dr Rejoice James Songden, only applicants who selected Unijos as their first choice in the 2025 UTME or DE and meet the stated cut-off marks are eligible to apply.
The institution set the general minimum UTME requirement at 180 but specified higher scores for certain competitive courses.
The announced cut-off marks include: Medicine and Surgery – 250; Law – 230; Nursing Sciences – 220; Computer Science – 220; Mass Communication – 200.
The statement also indicated that candidates who do not meet the departmental cut-off scores should “effect a change of course on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).”
Online Registration Process
The screening will take place entirely online via the university’s portal: portal.unijos.edu.ng.
The process comprises two main stages:
Account Creation – Candidates are required to create an account by inputting their JAMB registration number, email address, and a chosen password.
Payment and Submission – Once the account is activated via a verification link sent to the candidate’s email, they must pay the screening fee, print the payment receipt, and download the screening summary.
Mandatory O’Level Upload
Unijos emphasised that it is compulsory for all candidates to “upload their O’level results to JAMB CAPS before registering.”
The institution warned that failing to do so “could result in disqualification or delayed processing of admission”.
Furthermore, it is compulsory for successful applicants to “accept admission offers on JAMB CAPS within four weeks of release” for their offers to be considered valid on the Unijos portal.
The university added that the complete list of courses and departmental cut-off marks for the 2025/2026 academic session can be found on the Unijos official website.
