Ilorin Business School admission form into Professional Postgraduate Programmes for the 2019/2020 academic session is now available on the IBS Portal. Interested members of the public that wish to apply for any of the programmes are hereby informed to apply now as the closing date of the application has been announced.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the under listed professional Postgraduate Programmes of the Ilorin Business School, University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) for the 2019/2020 academic session.

ABOUT ILORIN BUSINESS SCHOOL (IBS) PROFESSIONAL POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES & DURATION
General Information
The academic session of Ilorin Business School for Professional Postgraduate programmes is 12 calendar months, commencing on 2nd October and ending on 30th September of the following year. The 12 calendar months start to count automatically from the date of first registration. Applicants are to note that programmes automatically lapse at the expiration of the prescribed maximum duration for each programme. However, a candidate may apply for an extension, subject to Postgraduate School regulations.
Master in Business Administration (MBA) Executive
The duration of the programme shall normally be a minimum period of six (6) semesters, and a maximum period of ten (10) semesters. Students will attend lectures on Saturdays and Sundays. They are also expected to come in for two (2) weeks during long vacation for intensive academic work. The available areas of specialization include: Accounting, Marketing, Personnel Management, Finance, General Management, and Operations Management.
Master in Business Administration (MBA)
The duration of the Programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 24 calendar months and a maximum period of 36 calendar months for Full-Time; and a minimum period of 36 calendar months and a maximum period of 48 calendar months for Part –Time. Areas of specialization include: Accounting, Marketing, Personnel, Finance, General Management and Operations Management.
Master in Geographic Information Systems (MGIS)
The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months. This Programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.
Master in Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR)
The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and a maximum period of 30 calendar Months. Areas of specialization include: Labour Management Relations, Personnel and Human Resources Management; Industrial Conflict and Dispute Resolution; and Labour Law. This programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.
Master in Public Administration (MPA)
The duration of the programme shall normally be for a minimum period of 18 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months. Areas of specialization include: Public Finance, Budgeting, Personnel Management, Public Policy and Development Administration. This programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.
Master in Health Planning and Management (MHPM),
The duration of the programme shall be a minimum of 12 calendar months and maximum of 24 calendar months.
Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (PGDGIS)
The duration of the programme shall normally be a minimum period of 12 calendar months and a maximum period of 18 calendar months. This programme is available on Full-time basis ONLY.
Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM)
The duration of the programme shall normally be a minimum of 12 calendar months and a maximum of 18 calendar months. This programme is available on Full-Time basis ONLY.
Professional Master in Information Technology (MIT)
There are three mode of study structured as follows:
- Full Time: this mode of study will run for a minimum of 18 calendar months and a maximum of 36 calendar months
- Part Time: this mode of study will run for a minimum of 30 calendar months and a maximum of 48 calendar months
- Executive: this mode of study will run for a minimum of 42 calendar months and a maximum of 60 calendar months
ILORIN BUSINESS SCHOOL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR PROFESSION POSTGRADUATE COURSES (ELIGIBILITY)
General Requirements:
- All Certificates shall be available at the point of purchasing the application form, including the National Youth Service Corps DISCHARGE CERTIFICATE OR EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE.
- Candidates are expected to submit their application forms online together with the scanned copies of their credentials.
- All supporting documents in (i) above and the hard copy of the application form should be forwarded to the Secretary, Ilorin Business School, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria not later than 22nd September, 2018. The submission of Transcripts of Academic Records must reach the Secretary, Ilorin Business School under confidential cover not later than 19th October, 2018. The School will not be held liable for any misdirected transcript, please.
- All candidates must have 5 O/L Credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
Master in Business Administration (MBA)
Candidates for admission into the Ilorin Business School MBA Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division). Holders of professional qualifications such as ACA, ACMA AIB ACIS, CIBN, ACTS or HND (Upper Credit) must possess a postgraduate Diploma Certificate in Strategic Management from the University of Ilorin with a Minimum average weighted score of 60%. All candidates should have at least Five (5) Credit Passes at the Ordinary Level (O/L), Including English Language and Mathematics irrespective of field of study.
Master in Geographic Information Systems (MGIS)
Candidates for admission into the MGIS Programme shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University,. Holders of professional qualifications such as HND with a minimum of five (3) years post –qualification experience are also eligible to apply.
Master in Industrial and Labour Relations (MILR)
Candidates for admission into the MILR degree Programme shall normally possess a honours degree of the University of Ilorin, or from any other recognized University.
Master in Public Administration (MPA)
Candidates for admission into the MPA degree Programme shall normally possess a minimum of Third Class Honuors in any discipline from the University of Ilorin, or any other recognized University.
Master in Health Planning and Management (MHPM),
A candidate to be admitted shall:
(a) Hold an honours first degree in Health Planning and Management, or related field, OR Have an honours degree in a discipline other than Health Planning and Management, plus at least 3 years experience in Health Planning, Research and Statistics or other relevant Departments after graduation, OR Hold an honours first degree in other discipline, but must in addition, possess postgraduate certificate or Diploma in Health Planning and Management or related fields from recognized Institutions; OR a pass degree in Health Planning and Management or related discipline, plus 3 years experience OR any other qualification approved by Senate of the University.
(b). A minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division in any of the above. In addition, all candidates must have O’ level credits in English and Mathematics.
Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (PGDGIS)
Candidates for admission into the Ilorin Business School GIS postgraduate diploma Programme shall normally possess a recognized Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Third Class Honours or HND or their equivalent, in Geography, Environmental Science, the Sciences, other Social Science, Forestry, Engineering, Architecture, Town Planning etc. Notwithstanding the above, candidate with substantial work experience who have attained managerial positions may still be considered for admission on individual merit.
Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management (PGDSM)
Candidates for admission into the PGDSM shall normally possess Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification such as ICAN or HND certificate with a minimum of Lower Credit from recognized Institutions.
Professional Master in Information Technology (MIT)
All candidates applying for this programme must possess the following:
- At least credit pass in a minimum of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings, and any of the following:
- A Bachelor Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related field, with a minimum of Second Class Honor (Lower Division) or Lower Credit grade, or
A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related field, with a Third Class and a minimum of 1 year IT-related working experience, or
- A Bachelor Degree with a minimum of Second Class Honor (Lower Division) or its equivalent in any field of study with a minimum of 3 years IT-related working experience which may involve planning, development, operation and maintenance of Information Systems, or
- A Bachelor Degree with a Third Class in any field of study with a minimum of 5 years IT-related working experience which may involve planning, development, operation and maintenance of Information Systems.
HOW TO APPLY FOR ILORIN BUSINESS SCHOOL POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION FOR 2019/2020 ACADEMIC SESSION
Application fee for each programme is N25,000.00 only for applicants within Nigeria OR $200.00
only for international applicants and payment is to be made online.

QUALIFYING EXAMINATION DATE AND TIME:
All applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma and Master Degree Programmes will be subjected to a written assessment (qualifying examination), irrespective of the class of degree obtained.
The qualifying examination will be held at the Ilorin
Business School, (beside Student Union Building) University of Ilorin on Saturday 21st September, 2019 at 10:30am.
There will be no formal letters of invitation to candidates for the Qualifying
Examination as this advertisement serves as the invitation.
