The Vice-Chancellor, University of Uyo, Professor Enefiok Essien SAN has disclaimed the fake Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn handles being operated in his name with his pictures by some suspected fraudsters.
This was contained in an internal memorandum issued to the university community from the office of the Registrar of the institution.
In the memorandum, the vice Chancellor informed the university community and other stakeholders to be watchful of the activities of these fraudsters and to also advise all persons involved in this fraudulent act to desist from using the name of the vice Chancellor to defraud unsuspecting individuals.
He also said that anyone caught in this act would be sanctioned appropriately. Members of the university community and other stakeholders are, therefore, advised to note that the crime has been reported to the appropriate authority for further investigation.
