The management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria sacked 15 staff of the institution on Thursday August 26 over offenses which centered on sexual harassment, negligence of duty and corruption.
The sacked ABU staff are reportedly from different departments and faculties in the institution and they were handed their dismissal letter after its approval by the university’s Governing Council during two separate meetings.
Director of ABU’s Public Affairs, Dr Sama’ila Shehu who confirmed the incident said not all the affected staff are lecturers.
“Not all of them are lecturers but they are ABU staff members. A total of 15 workers were affected. The offences range from mishandling of records, scripts to sexual harassment and assault” he said.
