ABU Zaria Denies Girl who Scored 302 in Jamb and 274 in Post UTME Admission.
The management of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria led by Prof Ibrahim Garba the current Vice Chancellor of the institution has been strongly criticized for the school admission policy which saw a qualified candidate get denied admission. The major reason for the denial has been cited as, catchment area quota.
The student identified as Goodness Thomas, a Valedictorian of St. Clement Secondary School, Gbaiko Minna, Niger State, scored 302 in her JAMB and 274 in Post UTME where ABU Zaria was chosen as her preferred option. She has 6 A1s (including Maths, Biology, Physics and Chemistry) in her WAEC, and was denied admission to study her course of choice, Medicine and Surgery. She was rather offered admission in the department Human Anatomy.
It is worthy to note that, ABU Zaria cut off mark for Medicine and Surgery is 250, while miss Goodness scored 302, surpassing that score by 52 points.
