Adeleke distributes cash, gifts to students, schools

Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, has awarded cash and gifts to the winners of the Essay and Debate competitions held to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Celebration for the state’s schools and students.

The competition winners received N500,000 each, while others received gadgets, electronic equipment, and other prizes.

Adeleke, speaking at the event held at Osogbo Township Stadium, emphasised the importance of education and talent development among schoolchildren and youth.

Adeleke, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, said “This year’s debate competition aimed to ignite the minds of our young schools, encourage critical thinking, and foster a culture of research and not only provided a platform for our students to express their thoughts and ideas but also fostered a sense of unity and purpose among them.

“It is heartwarming to witness the depth of insight and the innovative solutions our young minds bring to the forefront. The response to this competition has been overwhelming, with students from various schools across the nation who are Osun State indigene enthusiastically participating.”
