Al-Muhibbah Open University commences academic session with 14 courses




Al-Muhibbah Open University’s administration has said that the institution will offer 14 courses starting in the 2023–2024 academic year.

Business administration, economics, accounting, international relations, marketing, project management, and entrepreneurship are a few of the programmes that have been approved.

Others are data science and analytics, public health, nursing, computer science, cyber security, software engineering, healthcare, and hospital administration.

This was said by Muslim Maigari, the university’s registrar, following the management meeting of the organisation in Abuja.

Al-Muhibbah Open University is one of the four private universities in Nigeria that has received a licence to offer open and distant learning from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

According to Maigari, the institution is prepared to provide students with exceptional experiences thanks to its highly dedicated faculty and teachers.

Speaking on the approval of the academic programmes, Maigari expressed delight over the development and said that the institution was ready for take off.

He gave assurances to the general public and potential students about a trouble-free and seamless academic session, adding that Al-Muhibah University’s administration has placed all necessary personnel and supplies in place to guarantee seamless academic operations on the main campuses in Abuja and Bauchi.

The registrar said: “We are very delighted to receive the approval from the NUC to commence academic activities with those fourteen courses.

“Al-Muhibbah Open University is founded on a strong moral foundation and desire by the founder to serve humanity and provide equal educational access to the disadvantaged segment of the society, especially women, physically challenged and vulnerable youths to access sound and qualitative and open distance education with in-built 21st-century skills.

“The approval of the programmes is a culmination of a lot of activities by the management to ensure that we don’t leave any stone unturned for a smooth take-off.

“I can assure you that we will offer quality education to students both far and near based on our learning mode, which is distant e- learning. This is one great opportunity for Nigerians and those outside the country to benefit from the open-distance learning that we are here to offer.”
