Prof. Yusuf Saidu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto, was murdered by suspected bandits.
Prof. Saidu, DVC Research, Innovation, and Development at Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto, died unexpectedly on Monday while travelling from Sokoto to Kaduna.
In a statement, the university management said, “The death has occurred of Prof. Yusuf Saidu, the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research, Innovation and Development, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto.”
The statement revealed that he was attacked and murdered by bandits on his way to Kaduna from Sokoto State, and that the late professor was a man of integrity, religion, dedication, and courage.
The university described his demise as a “painful loss.”
