BREAKING: WAEC Releases 2024 Nov/Dec WASSCE Results


The results for the second series of the 2024 November/December West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates have been announced.
This announcement was made by Dangut Amos, the Head of the National Office, WAEC Nigeria, on the night of Sunday, February 16, 2025.
In a statement released by WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina, a total of 65,023 candidates participated in the examination at various centers nationwide.
Adesina stated that out of the total candidates who took the exam, 34,878, representing 53.64 percent, obtained credits and above in at least five compulsory subjects.
Additionally, the 2024 results showed an improvement compared to the 44.29% pass rate recorded in 2023 and the 42.16% pass rate in 2022, reflecting a 9.35 percent increase in candidates’ overall performance.
“16,886 male candidates (48.41%) and 17,992 female candidates (51.58%) attained the required credits, indicating that female candidates outperformed their male counterparts,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, 62,364 candidates (95.90%) had their results fully processed and released, while 2,669 candidates (4.1%) are still awaiting their results due to certain errors.
Furthermore, the results of 2,577 candidates (3.98%) have been withheld over suspected involvement in examination malpractice.
“Investigations will be conducted to determine if these results will be released or canceled,” the statement added.
