ASABA (Sundiata Scholar) – The Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board has announced that it would start awarding the 2023 bursary to eligible students in February.
This was revealed by the board’s executive secretary, Dr. Godfrey Enita, in a statement released in Asaba and provided to reporters on Thursday.
Enita said that after approving the release of funds for the exercise, Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori gave the board the directive to start the disbursement.
He claims that the governor is urging the student body to work together more in order to pursue and complete his M.O.R.E Agenda.
He stated: “I wish to bring to the notice of the National Association of Delta State Students that Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the payment of the 2023 bursary award.
“And he has directed the board to make arrangement to commence disbursement to validly qualified students of Delta origin by the first week of February 2024.
”He described the governor as not only being “youth-friendly but interested in youth development, which is a critical component of his M.O.R.E Agenda.
“He is definitely a father figure, whose love for students can only be described in the superlative,” Enita added.
He thanked the students for their patience and understanding but noted that “what is needed now is solidarity with your father – the governor”.
