Education Minister Lauds JAMB for Service Delivery, Integrity
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has been commended by the Minister for Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu for ensuring service delivery to the public. His commendation was given during the unveiling of the remodeled JAMB Headquarters Complex in Bwari Abuja, on Saturday.
Adamu, represented by Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, Executive Secretary, National University Commission said that the board’s show of integrity was worth emulating, and the board continued to be the flagship of the education sector in terms of transparent and honest service delivery.
Adamu also mentioned that the board’s probe into the conduct of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and its relationship with intent, plans, and execution of examination malpractice was not a misplaced one. He said that the outcome of the exercise had revealed a lot of rot in the education system. Speaking further, he expreesed his disppointment in the fact that examination malpractice was mostly practised by the youths who are the leaders of tomorrow.
He made disclosed that the Federal Ministry of Education was in full support of JAMB’s efforts. He said that the Ministry would continue to assist JAMB to ensure that the syndicate in the examination industry is confronted in the overall interest of the country.
He directed that all public examination bodies must ensure the clean up and sanitation of their registration processes, in emulation of JAMB. and expressed satisfaction that the Board had been prudent in expending its resources and getting value for the same, while also calling on the staff and community to use the facilities efficiently.
