Fake Corps Member Remanded in Prison For Forgery

Osaghae Osaigbovo, an alleged impersonator of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, was ordered by a  Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ilorin, on Monday,November 18th to be remanded in a correctional facility pending judgment. This oder came after the defendant pleaded not guilty to criminal trespass and forgery.

Osaghae was accused by Mr. Tota George, Assistant Director of NYSC Camp, Yikpata, Kwara on Nov. 8 for allegedly posing as a prospective corps member and presented a fake Batch “C”, call-up letter, with number NYSC/AUP/2019/01546. He also presented a fake registration slip and job list with forged signatures and forged notification of Higher National Diploma (HND) result of Auchi Polytechnic, in Edo. He was arrested while trying to collect an NYSC kit from the platoon inspector. Further investigation revealed that, Osaghae was a notorious criminal, who specializes in forging documents.
