This event was the college’s 47th edition of its kind.

Dr. Ademola Salami, the institution’s provost, commended the new students during his speech for overcoming obstacles and being accepted into the college.

The National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), which is the supervising agency for all colleges of education in Nigeria, approved the re-accreditation of all of the college’s academic programmes, he told the new students and the college community.

Dr. Salami pointed out that the college consistently benefits from the moral support of the federal government to make the institution suitable for teaching and learning in order to guarantee the college achieves its mandate.

In his remarks, the Provost—represented by his deputy, Dr. Kunle Adebiyi—emphasized that a college education is incomplete without discipline and that students must demonstrate a strong sense of discipline during their time there in order to be considered worthy both in character and academic abilities.

“You are therefore enjoined to shun all anti- social activities; cultism, examination misconduct and the like, all of which have great consequences on your studies and success in life.

“The college also encourages all students to dress according to acceptable norms. In the aspect of security, the college will continue to work round the clock to ensure the security of lives and properties of members of the college community.

“However, you are expected to be security conscious throughout your stay in the college. You are also called upon to alert the officials of the college wherever you see, or have information on anything that may constitute a threat to the security of the institution,” he charged.
