Full digitization will boost education in Nigeria – Afe Babalola

The founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD), Chief Afe Babalola, has called for the full digitization of Nigerian universities to boost the standard of education in the country.

Chief Babalola stated this on Monday in a virtual address at the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools 2020 meeting with the theme, “Digital Revolution as a Tool in Revamping Nigeria’s Education in Post-COVID-19 Era.”

The ABUAD founder remarked that with digitalization, people around the world regardless of their location could use video, audio and text to link up online for learning.

He said, “A virtual meeting allows people to share information and data in real-time without being physically located together. If any university hopes to become a world-class university, it is imperative that all their teachers must go digital.”

“We should harness all these to make our education better. The impact of the coronavirus has made the theme a moral imperative. This is because going digital means that you fully understand how your audience uses computer technology to access what they need at the right time.”
