Heirs Insurance Group Empowers 500 Schoolchildren, Communities with ‘The Good Project’

Heirs Insurance Group, Nigeria’s fastest-growing insurance company, has launched an initiative to empower underserved communities through training and the benefits of upcycling, as part of its sustainability objectives.

Named ‘The Good Project’, Heirs Insurance Group educated communities on the advantages of transforming waste materials into reusable products, thus mitigating the impacts of climate change and improving people’s financial situations.

Moreover, the insurance company donated school supplies and a cash contribution to over 500 students from the Makoko community in Lagos.

The Good Plastic Project reaffirms the company’s dedication to environmental sustainability and community development.

The project was carried out in collaboration with Slum2School Africa and Eco Barter, both of which share the company’s vision for sustainability and social impact.

Commenting on the initiative, Niyi Onifade, Sector Head at Heirs Insurance Group, said, “Through this project, we are demonstrating the potential of sustainability, emphasising its role in improving lives while preserving the environment.”

Onifade also highlighted that the financial contribution and school supplies were meant to bring hope and joy to children and their families, particularly at the beginning of the year when families often need extra support.

The Good Project is part of Heirs Insurance Group’s key sustainability efforts, as it continues to lead by embedding sustainability into its operations and showcasing how corporate responsibility can foster meaningful change.

Heirs Insurance Group is a subsidiary of Heirs Holdings, a prominent pan-African investment firm with interests in 24 countries across four continents.

With a rapidly growing retail presence and a strong digital platform, Heirs Insurance Group serves both corporate and individual clients throughout Nigeria.
