JAMB Introduces New Feature to Help Candidates with Lost SIM Cards Before UTME/DE Registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has launched a new option to support candidates who are unable to retrieve their lost SIM cards previously linked to their registrations.

JAMB made this announcement on Thursday via X, stating that the new feature is now accessible at all its Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.

The examination board advised candidates to complete the required template in order to utilize this service for the upcoming UTME/DE registration.

Additionally, JAMB emphasized that SIM SWAP remains unavailable.

JAMB stated: “Good news for those who cannot retrieve their previously used but lost SIM cards. A feature is now available at all CBT centres to address your case. Kindly fill the template to access this service for the upcoming UTME/DE registration. Note that SIM SWAP is still not available.”

This development comes just a few days before the registration process for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) begins on Friday, 31 January, and concludes on Saturday, 8 March.

JAMB also revealed that the Direct Entry (DE) registration will commence on Monday, 10 March, and will end on Monday, 7 April.

“The cost implication for the 2025 UTME/DE Registration is as stated below: 1. UTME with Mock-N8,700, 2. UTME without Mock-N7,200, 3. Mock Trial Testing for Future Candidates-N3,500, 4. DE-N5,700,” JAMB tweeted.

“The breakdown is as follows: UTME/DE application fee- N3,500, Reading Text-N1,000, CBT centre registration service charge- N700, CBT Centre UTME service charge-N1,500, CBT Mock service charge-N1,500, Bank charges-N500, CBT Mock-UTME centre service charge-N1,500.”
