JAMB temporarily closes portal for 2025 WASSCE result upload to resolve technical problems

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that its portal for uploading the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results has been temporarily closed.

This step was taken to address technical problems affecting candidates who had previously uploaded the initially released results.

JAMB stated on X that it had shut the 2025 WASSCE result upload portal for a short period in order to fix the issues experienced by candidates who had already uploaded their original results.

“Attention, Dear Candidates, Kindly be aware that the temporary closure of the portal for the 2025 WASSCE result upload is to address the issue with those who had previously uploaded the initially released WASSCE result,” the board stated.

The examination body reassured the affected candidates that the issue was being worked on and that they would be contacted when it was time to upload their results again.

“Please be patient while our technical crew works on the portal. You will be contacted shortly to upload your result. Thank you,” they stated.

This temporary closure affects candidates applying for the 2024/2025 academic session who must upload their WASSCE results as part of the admission process. For those who had uploaded results from the first release of the WASSCE, this technical update is meant to ensure accuracy and prevent errors in the admissions database.

In recent days, examination bodies in Nigeria, including WAEC, NECO, and now JAMB, have suspended their portals not due to random technical faults but to proactively fix underlying issues and maintain the integrity of their systems.

WAEC halted access to its result checker portal on 6 August, shortly after the results were released, following an internal review that discovered technical issues linked to paper serialisation in key subjects such as Mathematics, English, Biology, and Economics.

NECO also announced a nationwide closure of its examination platforms for scheduled maintenance after experiencing several days of unplanned downtime that disrupted result checking, registration, and verification, with some candidates even facing delays in international application processes.
