Kponee-Shovein Foundation 2025 Scholarship

The Kponee-Shovein Scholarship Award is open to undergraduate students currently pursuing their first degree at recognised universities within Nigeria.

Each year, the foundation sponsors full tuition for one academic session, in addition to a stipend, for students studying at Nigerian universities.

The Kponee-Shovein Scholars Award is strictly intended for those pursuing bachelor’s degree programmes.

The foundation provides funding for one full academic session of tuition, along with a stipend, at any Nigerian university.

Requirements for Kponee-Shovein Foundation Scholarship Award

Applicants must be indigenes of Rivers State.
Applicants must be enrolled at any accredited university in Nigeria.

Selection Process

Top-performing applicants during each application cycle will be selected as “finalists” and will be invited to participate in an interview with the foundation’s founders.
Those chosen to receive the scholarship will be selected from the group of finalists and notified before the end of the year.
All selected recipients must attend an in-person interview with the Chief Operating Officer in Port Harcourt in order to receive the tuition and stipend support.
Furthermore, recipients must present and verify their school ID card, local government identification letter, and tuition statement with the Chief Operating Officer before disbursement.
Successful candidates will begin receiving tuition and stipend support at the start of the academic year.

How to Apply

To apply for the Kponee-Shovein Scholarship, interested candidates should complete the Kponee-Shovein Scholars Application Form.
Applicants must then submit the completed form along with the following required documents to kponeeshoveinfoundation@gmail.com:

  • Essay 1, Maximum length 1000 words: Describe your motivations for pursuing your area of study, reasons for applying for the scholarship award, and career plans upon graduating.
  • Essay 2, Maximum length 1000 words: Tell us about your experiences as a Rivers State indigene and how your life experiences have informed and shaped who you are today.
  • Official scanned transcripts – JAMB score for students entering their first year and current university transcripts for continuing students.
  • Résumé or Curriculum Vitae
  • Two professional letters of recommendation – These should come from lecturers, professors, or heads of departments and must be sent directly by the referees to kponeeshoveinfoundation@gmail.com.
