Kwara University of Education appoints Vice Chancellor




Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has selected Prof. Medinat Folorunsho Salman as the first Acting Vice Chancellor of the newly created Kwara State University of Education (KWSUED) Ilorin.

She was a professor of mathematics education until her appointment as a senior lecturer at the department of science education and coordinator of the Educational Technology Centre, at the University of Ilorin.

Folorunsho Salman received her Bachelor of Education from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1985, a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Ilorin in 1990, and a doctoral degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Ilorin in 1998.

She is the first female professor in Ilorin Emirate.

Her research interests include mathematics education, gender-related issues in mathematics and science education, and innovative mathematics education in the developing world.

The appointment is effective immediately, according to Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, who made the announcement in Ilorin on Tuesday.
