Seyi Fatoba, a law graduate of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti and a student at Nigeria law school, complained of “swollen legs and great discomfort” at the hospital where she was being treated for malaria. The malaria treatment was said to have been continued despite her lingering illness, until she eventually died.
A friend of Seyi disheartened by the loss, described the deceased as “brilliant and a very strong fighter of goodwill,” and blamed the poor state of Nigeria’s health care for her death.
