Lawmaker declares state of emergency in education in his constituency
In the House of Representatives, Hon. Akarachi Amadi, the lawmaker for the Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency of Imo State, has proclaimed a state of emergency in the consistuency’s elementary and secondary schools.
When discussing his leadership thus far and his plans for the future, Amadi revealed this to journalists in Owerri. He pointed out that the primary and secondary schools he visited in his federal constituency during his campaigns were in appalling situations.
The legislator vowed to do everything in his power to improve the state of the schools because he was a benefit of high-quality education.
According to him, “one of the benefits I enjoyed and I’m more passionate about is education. I am privileged to have received one of the best education from my Parents and I will remain grateful to them for that privilege.
”During the campaigns, while I visited our people community by community, I can categorically say that the Community Schools and Government Schools in Mbaitoli/Ikeduru are in a deplorable states and have necessitated the declaration of state of emergency by me.
“We have declared a state of Emergency in this sector and we will liaise and lobby every agency to hear our cry, Including the state Government, Universal Basic Education Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Federal Government and Donor Agencies”
