Missing Ondo University Students Found Dead

The two missing students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), owned by the Ondo State Government, Andrel Eloho Okah and John Friday Abba, have been confirmed dead.

The bodies of Okah, a student in the Department of History and International Studies, Faculty of Arts, and Abba, a student in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, were discovered over the weekend.

This tragic incident occurred three weeks after the two students were reported missing by their coursemates.

Their concerned classmates began searching for them a week after they failed to show up for academic activities on campus, and they subsequently reported their disappearance to the police.

A security source who spoke to our reporter in confidence confirmed on Sunday that the two undergraduates had died.

“It’s sad to inform you that the two missing AAUA students have been killed by their suspected abductors, and their dead bodies have been found where they kept them.”

“Some of our men are already on their way to recover their corpses inside the bush at a border town between Akoko and Ekiti,” the source said.

A well-informed student at the university, who wished to remain anonymous, also confirmed the devastating news, saying the entire university community has been thrown into mourning over the deaths.

“Yes, it’s true. Their corpses have been located inside the bush. It’s a sad moment for us as colleagues. There’s darkness everywhere, as I speak; people are mourning,” he said.

Olayinka Ayanlade, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, when contacted, promised to provide more information about the incident.

It was previously reported that the whereabouts of the two second-year undergraduate students (200 level) had remained unknown.

Fearing the worst, the families of the two students launched an urgent search and also notified the relevant law enforcement agencies.
