Missing UNN female student found dead on campus

Favour, a female student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in Enugu state, was found dead on campus.

The 100-level student from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science was reported missing on Tuesday after attending her chemistry practical.

On Friday evening, the deceased’s remains were discovered outside the Eni-Njoku male hostel, near the varsity’s stadium junction.

The corpse was allegedly discarded within a sewage system, as evidenced by social media posts.

Students returning from evening lectures discovered Favour’s lifeless body.

While filming the corpse, the students questioned the deceased’s gender.

“Na woman now. See, she get br**st. Na woman,” one of the students is heard speaking in pidgin English.

On Saturday morning, officers from the university’s security department came to the scene and transported the deceased to the UNN mortuary.

The university administration has yet to comment on the situation.

When Daniel Ekea, the state’s police spokesperson was asked  to comment on the incident, he demanded a text message.

As of the time of this report, Ekea has yet to respond to inquiries on the circumstances surrounding Favour’s demise.

Last month, a female final-year student at Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo state was discovered dead.

The student, named as Ayandare Modupe, was discovered dead alongside an off-campus church she attended.

Modupe was a 500-level agronomy student at the Faculty of Agriculture.
