‘Na your mama’: Delta Government Steps In, Orders Query Withdrawal Over Viral Video

The Delta State government has intervened after the state College of Nursing Sciences, Agbor, issued a query to student nurse Osato Edobor regarding her alleged involvement in a viral video recorded at an event attended by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The government has now instructed the school to withdraw the query.

A letter dated March 28, signed by the institution’s provost, Evbodaghe Rita Ogonne, confirmed that the query had been withdrawn.

This decision came after the Delta State Commissioner for Health, Joseph Onojaeme, directed the school to reverse its earlier stance.

Earlier, the college had accused Edobor of engaging in a “malicious act” by recording an unauthorized video of the First Lady’s visit to Asaba on March 27.

The widely shared footage captured nursing students declining to acknowledge the First Lady as “everyone’s mother” during a welcome song, an action that many viewed as a form of political opposition.

It should be noted that Sundiata Scholar previously reported that a student nurse at Delta State College of Nursing Sciences, identified as Osato Edobor, had been subjected to disciplinary measures over a viral TikTok video in which students responded to a song honoring Tinubu’s wife with the phrase “Na your mama be this.”
