NANS elects new national president

Olushola Oladoja has emerged as the newly elected National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students.

Oladoja, who is currently a postgraduate student at the University of Jos, secured 300 votes, defeating his closest rivals—Salauhudeen Suleiman from the University of Abuja and Gambo Abubakar of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.

The election took place at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja on Wednesday, with more than 358 student leaders participating, including Students’ Union Government presidents from tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

Comrade Suleiman Sariki, who served as the chairman of the NANS Convention Committee, supervised the electoral process.

Some delegates described the election as transparent and credible, praising the organizers for ensuring a seamless exercise.
