NECO Releases 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination Results


The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.
Azeez Sani, the acting Director of Public Affairs at NECO, revealed this on Wednesday, July 9, during the Award Committee Meeting, announcing that a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination across 12 subjects.
NECO, in the statement, stated that the examination began on May 12, 2025, and concluded on May 23, 2025.
The results were released after the successful completion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting, which took place at the Council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
Folake David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education and chairperson of the award committee, expressed satisfaction with the procedures that led to the successful release of the results during the meeting.
The Award Committee Meeting was also attended by several secondary school principals from across the country, as well as NECO management officials.
Furthermore, the award committee approved the date and timetable for the 2025 BECE resit.
According to NECO, the resit examination is scheduled to take place on July 23 and 24, 2025, for Mathematics and English Studies.
